Don Newcombe had a complete game at Ebbets Field as the Brooklyn Dodgers beat
the slumping Milwaukee Braves 9 to 2.
Brooklyn took the lead for good in the 5th inning scoring one runner.
Milwaukee had 9 hits in the game while Brooklyn had 6, but Brooklyn had the
more timely hits.
The win was credited to Newcombe(20-8) who went the whole way allowing 2 runs.
Lew Burdette(19-10) took the loss. He gave up 8 runs in 7 innings of work.
I've chosen the year I was born for my next SOM Baseball as-played replay. I've had the cards for quite a few years but am just now, finally doing a complete season replay on the computer while using the cards. As usual, I'll try to manage the Detroit Tigers to an AL Pennant.
