Third baseman Jackie Robinson cracked 4 homeruns and had 5 RBI and Sal Maglie
tossed a complete game at Ebbets Field as the Brooklyn Dodgers belted the
hapless Pittsburgh Pirates by the count of 11 to 1.

Robinson was really 'in the zone'. He cracked a solo homerun in the 1st
inning, blasted a solo shot in the 3rd inning, cracked a two-run shot in the
4th inning and delivered a solo blast in the 6th inning. Brooklyn banged out
12 hits on the night.

The victory was credited to Maglie(9-8) who went the distance, allowing 1 run.
The loss was charged to Ron Kline(11-18). He allowed 5 homeruns in 7 innings
of work.

'I felt great out there tonight,' Robinson said, 'Maybe I should make a
regular habit of getting to bed on time!'
