WEB GEMS- Top 9th: Del Crandall blocked the plate, saving a run!

Roger Craig completed the game without help from the bullpen at County Stadium
where the very talented Brooklyn Dodgers beat the reeling Milwaukee Braves 13
to 6.

Pee Wee Reese had a big day at the plate. He doubled in the 1st inning,
lofted a three-run bomb in the 3rd inning and slapped a base-hit in the 7th
inning. Brooklyn finished with 19 hits in the victory.

Craig(15-6) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 6 runs. Bob
Buhl(10-10) ended up with the loss. Brooklyn now has a record of a league
leading 78-42. Charley Grimm was unhappy with his club's recent performance.
'We can't keep losing games' he said. 'It gets to be embarrassing after a
while.'
