1956 NL News Recap with League Leaders

NL league leaders as of September 1, 1956. Milwaukee's Hank Aaron leads the NL in hitting with a .349 BA. Brooklyn's Duke Snider may be having the best season of any hitter in the NL. He's 1st in RBI with 118, 2nd in HR with 37 and has a .311 BA. Snider's teammate, Don Newcombe is still the top pitcher in the NL even though he's lost his last 3 decisions. Cincinnati's Ted Kluszewski and Gus Bell are 1st and 3rd in HR and 3rd and 2nd in RBI.
