1956 AL Game of Note: NY at Cle.

1956-RookieNorm.JPGJune 17, 1956

New York rookie outfielder Norm Siebern hit for the cycle today as the Yankees defeated the Cleveland Indians 7-5. What a way to start a MLB career! After only 14 AB, young Siebern has achieved one of the toughest accomplishments in baseball for any hitter. He got the hardest part of hitting for a cycle, a triple, in the 1st inning. The homerun he hit in the 7th was his 1st of the season as well as his 1st of his career.
