1956 World Series Line Scores

October 7, 1956

In winning the 1956 World Series the Brooklyn Dodgers swept the Detroit Tigers in 4 games. Brooklyn starting pitchers were able to keep the Tiger's bats quiet the first 3 games and they got 3 complete game victories. Game 4 was a slugfest, but it was the Dodgers who out-slugged the Tigers. Overall, Brooklyn outscored Detroit 25-14. Gil Hodges was named the World Series MVP. Hodges hit .400 had 8RBI and had 2 game winning hits in the Series.
