1956 AL News Recap and League Leaders

My Favorite Player: Al Kaline - Baseball's Past, Present, and ...June 1, 1956

The Detroit Tigers continued their offensive assault in the month of May and boast many of the top batters in the league's main hitting categories. Al Kaline (pictured with Mantle), Ray Boone, Charlie Maxwell, and Harvey Kueen have led the charge to the Tigers 1st place position in the AL. Detroit's Frank Lary leads MLB in wins with 8. New York's Mickey Mantle really heated up in May hitting 16 HR and now has 19 HR to go along with 35 RBI.
