1956 AL Standings

May 15, 1956

The Detroit Tigers have been firing on all cylinders as the 1956 season comes to the middle of May. I've found during my research on the actual 1956 season, that Detroit got off to a horrible start but after the All Star break were the winningest team in the AL. They also led the league in hitting. This leads me to believe that they can challenge for the pennant, but a lot will depend on how the pitching holds out. In actual life, the New York Yankees got off to a great start in 1956 and never looked back by this point in the season. They got off to a very slow start for me but have been playing better as of late. The Chicago White Sox and Cleveland Indians will be in the hunt because of their fine pitching staffs.
